Wedding Notes: Getting Ready

Professional Pics are on their way! and wedding video had arrived! I love it. Its more perfect than I even let myself hope. Eventually it will make its way on here (if I can figure it out).

The morning of our wedding was so much fun. My room was a hustle and bustle of friends and family, the beauty squad, and the bridal party.

Here are some random shots that were captured that morning:

Wedding Notes: The Pre-Parties

So with the wedding pics on a disc in the mail headed my way- I thought I would begin the wedding notes, little recaps on all that lead up to June 10th. Hope you enjoy!

In addition to an amazing Bridal Shower, I was so lucky to have not only a super fun bachelorette party, but a bumping what we have deemed “wedding week”. Helza fun.

The Bach party was about two weeks before, so that some of my favorite people could make it. My super gorgeous smart funny best maid-of-honor of all time planned a night of presents, wine, yummy food, and of course-line dancing. Line-dancing is great because you can be a totally retard at it, and all the really nice regulars help you out and make you feel less stupid. I prefer this over say – a salsa club – where the idea of faking it till you make it isn’t as realistic.

Since I married someone who has lived in over 15 different countries and states, and with a lot of my family out of state, about 70% of the people who came to our wedding flew into town. This meant lots of crazy awesome beach days and dinners out with the people we love the most. For Richie this was literally the first time in his entire life where almost everyone he loved was in the same place. When I think back to these few days I think of the warm sun on my back, my cheeks hurting form so much smiling, and giddy anticipation for the wedding, while at the same time wanting the moments to go by as slow as possible so that I could absorb every last part.

About three days before the wedding Richie, my dad and brother, his dad, and about 5 of his other buddies took off for a fishing/camping/man weekend. I am not privy to the details of this event. I however, headed out with my mom, sister-in-law, and a few of my besties for a day at the Ojai Vally Inn and Spa. Bliss my friends. Bliss.

From there it was off to Moorpark, Ca where the festivities were held and where all the guests were gathering. The rehearsal was a peaceful summer morning, and was so happy. Big smiles, laughter, curl your toes excited-happy. If there is one thing that you should take away from our wedding it was how JOY FILLED we were to be with so many friends and family.

The Rehersal Dinner crackled with excitement. Richie and I both got to meet lots of people that were to so key to our growing up years. There may have been a few secret drinking games at our friends tables. We ate and laughed and shared community so special and unique to when you bring together two lives about to become a new family. Lots of meaningful advice and prayers were poured over us. And of course- there was the slideshow. I spent way too much time on that thing.

When everyone broke for the night, me and my girls headed back to the hotel for a night of silliness (in my dress of course). I slept in the bed with my maid-of-honor, one should never sleep alone the night before their wedding. I slept pretty well actually.
